The madridistas started strongly and that was quickly reflected on the score board. Raúl's boys went ahead in no time at all when Fidalgo finished from inside the box following a nice link-up between César and Guillem on the right flank. The visitors' response didn't take long and on 18’, Raí was close to levelling the clash. The Whites continued to stream forward though and enjoyed two further chances. Baeza had a great opportunity after picking up the ball deep inside his own half and driving forward, before César's long-range effort was kept out by the visiting goalkeeper.
The away side come back
With 36 minutes on the clock, UD Ibiza got their first goal. Morillas fed Caballé from the left, and the striker made no mistake when through one-on-one with Belman. After the break, the visitors completed their comeback. It was Caballé again, this time finishing off a swift counter to make it 1-2 (49’). The Whites quickly responded by pushing up in search of a leveller. Fidalgo tried his luck with a powerful drive which was pushed wide by Germán. In the 67th minute, the clearest change of the clash presented itself when a vicious Marvin cross was pushed out by the goalkeeper, but De la Fuente couldn't turn the loose ball home. The madridista defender had another attempt ten minutes from the end, but again, his effort from the edge of the box failed to find the target. Ultimately, it was a narrow defeat for Castilla against tough opposition.
