"We got better as the game went on but we couldn’t get over the line", explained Reguilón.
After the game against Getafe, Valverde responded to questions from the press: “Today we had chances and we tried to capitalise. When you don’t win things don’t seem positive, but we did things well. We have things to work on, we need to keep going and focus on what is next”.
“We tried to give it our best shot, it was a real battle. We tried to play and they tried to counter. We did well overall, we worked hard and in the end we were tired. Getafe had a great game and there were plenty of stellar performances”.
Third start in a row
“I try to enjoy it and make the most of my opportunities, I train hard, I want to show the boss what I can give next term. The boss is the one who decides along with the club, but I try to do the best possible along with my teammates in order to do as well as I can for the club”.
Reguilón: "We got better as the game went on"
“We always want to win games. The draw is no good to us, we always want to take all three points. We got better as the game went on today but we couldn’t get over the line. Now we have to turn our attentions to the next game. We know what a solid team Getafe are and how difficult it is to create chances against them. We defended strongly, we showed good personality to keep demanding the ball but it just didn’t want to go in the net. We’ll take positives from this”.
Getting back to winning ways
“We work hard every day to turn these defeats and draws into wins. We’ve got real confidence in the coach and we’ll keep moving forward”.
“I’m playing for the best team in the world. It’s a privilege and an honour. Every minute the coach gives me out on the pitch, I’m going to give it all I’ve got. I’m part of this club and if I’m chosen to play I’m thrilled, and if not, then I cheer my teammates on more than anyone. I’m ready for whatever the coach needs from me”.
