His goal against Alavés saw the French striker bring his tally of league goals to 126.
There's no let-up from Karim Benzema as his statistics in a Real Madrid shirt just get better and better. His spot-kick in the rout over Alavés at the Santiago Bernabéu saw the Madrid frontman bring his tally of LaLiga goals to 126, a return which moves him level with Gento as Real Madrid's seventh-highest goalscorer in the competition.

Since making his debut on 29 August 2009 against Deportivo La Coruña, the French forward has clocked up 263 league appearances and has registered in each of his nine seasons as a Real Madrid player. His goalscoring return in the 2015/16 campaign was particularly notable as he plundered 24 goals, a personal record in the competition. After having moved level with a club legend like Gento, now lying ahead of Benzema in the standings are Cristiano Ronaldo (300), Raúl (228), Di Stéfano (216), Santillana (186), Hugo Sánchez (164) and Puskas (156).
