Ramos: “Our badge and the club's history mean that it's our duty to fight right on until the end”

“LaLiga is looking tougher now but there's a long way to go”, added Kovacic.
Real Madrid failed to take victory in El Clásico and Sergio Ramos had the following to say at the final whistle: "Madrid put in a great first-half performance against terrific opposition in Barcelona. We controlled things and had the chances to take the lead, but it wasn't meant to be. In the second half perhaps our fatigue meant that we didn't come out with the same tempo, our performance levels dropped off a bit and when we went down to 10 men it told".

"Our badge and the club's history mean that it's our duty to fight right on until the end, it's not impossible and that's why Madrid must keep on battling away. The LaLiga title will be tough, but we'll try and make up some ground and fight to win the title".

Planning
“It was a risk worth taking with Mateo and given the length of time he’s been side-lined through injury, he was impeccable. In the second half, I think we all struggled. After losing Carvajal we had to change the system around because going a man down in a game such as this can really mess things up”.

Ramos: "We've got a wonderful squad and we're capable of turning it around".

“We're aware of the magnitude of losing a game against Barcelona. It allows us to reflect and to keep improving. I think 2017 has been a historic year for Real Madrid and we'll keep fighting to win it all”.

Kovacic: “We have to bounce back after this set-back”
“We played well in that first half but we couldn’t finish. We pressed high up, passed the ball around well, but the one thing missing was the goal. Then in the second half, they went ahead and things went from bad to worse when we got the red card. This is a hard one to take but we’ll bounce back”.

“Perhaps we gave it all we had early on and then we dropped off a bit. They had more space, played better and then we were up against it with the goals. We're at the best club in the world and now we have to keep working hard. LaLiga is looking tougher now but Real Madrid never give in and there's still a long way to go”.
