Cristiano Ronaldo: "The team has shown we're in great shape and full of confidence"

NEWS | 17/05/2017

"We’ve come through another final and now we just have one final push at La Rosaleda”, added Isco.
Cristiano Ronaldo netted twice as Real Madrid overcame Celta at Balaídos and the forward praised the Whites’ efforts: “The team put in a great performance, we showed we’re in good shape and full of confidence. There’s one game to go and we know we have to give it our all to the end. Málaga are a good team at home, but we’ve got to focus on ourselves and go there to win the game".

"That's always the goal for this team and it's what we're going to do. Málaga are a good side, but we're Real Madrid and we have to show that we're the best and we want to be champions”.

Individual work
“I've had a great season this year. The coach and the players have really helped me. We've got a fantastic squad with young players who have lots of experience. I've looked after myself well this year in order to be fit going into the closing stages. I wanted to be in good shape because everything is decided in the final few games. I'm helping the team by scoring goals and I'm very happy”.

Double
“We have to remain entirely focussed on Sunday, we have to win the game to be crowned champions. Then afterwards we'll have 15 days to be well prepared for the Champions League final”.

Isco: “The team is firing on all cylinders”
“We’ve come through another final and now we just have one final push at La Rosaleda, which will just as tough as tonight's game. We're very motivated and while a draw would be enough, we'll go there to win as we always do. Whenever I go home it's a really special occasion, and this time we've got a chance to clinch the LaLiga title, which is something I've never won”.

Casemiro: "This squad deserves to take the LaLiga title".

"It's very easy to build up an understanding with Cristiano. All you have to do is play it to him in and around the box and he does the rest. He's proving that he's firing on all cylinders as we enter the final throws of the season, just as the rest of the squad are. The great work that Zidane has done in terms of squad rotation has put us in with a chance of securing the double".

Marcelo: "We showed we were capable of managing the game"
"Celta were really raring to win, but we showed that we were capable of managing the game. We remained relaxed and delivered the goods to claim an emphatic win. It's now time to rest up, we know that we haven't won anything yet and that there's still a game to go. We'll have to give our all on Sunday".

Casemiro: "We've taken a significant step towards the LaLiga title"
"These three points have seen us take a significant step towards the LaLiga title. Next up it's Málaga, who are strong at home and have improved a lot towards the end of the season. This squad deserves to take the LaLiga title, but we will head there and will be gracious because we're aware that it'll be tough. With regards to Cristiano, he's performed incredibly well in the LaLiga run-in and the final stage of the Champions League and I think that we'll have to mention his name in the same breath as the Ballon d'Or again".

Lucas: "We were deserved winners"
"The team knew that this was a key game in our pursuit of the title. We're happy with the job we've done here and were deserved winners from start to finish. We made a high-octane start and Cristiano's opener gave us confidence. At the end, scoring several goals made sure that we were made to suffer far less. We're in fine form and our title destiny is in our own hands. We head to Málaga with real hope and are raring to secure the title".

Danilo: “The team gave it everything”
“We're very happy because we've shown great sacrifice. We gave it everything we had and produced an early response. That's what we've always managed to do, start games strongly, and we're reaping the rewards now. Now we have to rest up as best we can and regain our strength in order to come out the blocks quickly on Sunday and go for the three points”.
