"It is a deserved win, the team played well and the return tie is wide open", stated the forward.
In the wake of his brace against Bayern Munich, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to have racked up 100 goals in European competitions. The Portuguese forward has now notched 97 times in the Champions League, once in the competition's group stage and twice in the UEFA Super Cup. Coming in behind Ronaldo in these rankings are Lionel Messi (97 goals) and Raúl (76).

As for the teams for whom he has struck these goals, 84 of Ronaldo's strikes have come during his time at Real Madrid, with the remaining 16 having been scored during his spell at Manchester United. He has made 85 European appearances for Madrid, giving him an average of nearly a goal a game. His goalscoring exploits have seen him crowned the Champions League's leading goalscorer on five occasions.

Cristiano: “We reacted well to make a comeback”
“I am happy with the win, we reacted well to make a comeback. It is not easy to play here against a team like Bayern. Despite going behind in the first half we came back in the second half and came back. We scored early on and from there the game was easy. It was a great win, the team played well and the return leg is open.

Many chances
“I think if Neuer had not been on such form we would have scored more goals. Football is a real bag full of surprise and in a few minutes anything can happen. We scored, then Bayern had a man sent off and things suddenly became easier for us”.

Good run of form
“Our hard work is paying off. I trained hard in order to be ok for this month and a half of competition. The results are going our way and I'm happy because of that”.
