Marcelo beat his record for number of games played

The Brazilian ended the season on 53 games.
Marcelo has been one of Real Madrid's outstanding players in the season that has just finished. The Brazilian left back has contributed both in defence and in an attacking role. With 53 games played, he had his season with the most matches since he joined the Whites during the winter transfer market of  2006/07.

Until now, his record stood at 50 appearances in the 2010/11 season, a record that is followed by the 44 games played in 2011/12 and the 43 in 2009/10. Also, this season there has been a considerable rise in his number of appearances in relation to the 2013/14 season, when he played 39 games. In total, the Brazilian has played 320 official games with Real Madrid.

Goals and assists
This season, Marcelo played in the six competitions that the Whites participated in: 34 La Liga games, 11 Champions League matches, 3 Copa del Rey, 2 Spanish Super Cup, 1 European Super Cup and 2 games in the Club World Cup. Only Kroos and Cristiano Ronaldo have played in more games than the Brazilian, and he also provided four goals and eight assists.
