The last time the Whites took part in the final without having lost a game was in the 1979/80 season.
Real Madrid has reached the cup final undefeated for the eleventh time in its history. This year they have racked up seven victories and a draw, meaning that the Whites will be playing for the title without tasting defeat once again, 34 years after they last achieved the feat in 1980.

In the first Spanish Cups, which were played in a group format, the Whites reached the deciding match in 1903, 1905 and 1906. In 1908 they beat Vigo, although in that season only the final was played. The other editions in which Real Madrid reached the final without losing were in 1929, 1933, 1934, 1940, 1958, 1974 and 1980.

A final after a clean sweep of victories
The 1929 cup campaign deserves a special mention, as Real Madrid reached the final with a clean sweep of wins. They recorded eight victories, knocking out Oviedo, Logroño, Racing de Madrid and Athletic in the previous rounds. However, the Whites failed to put the icing on the cake as they lost to Español in the final (2-1).
