Club Deportivo Guadalajara S.A. de C.V., founded on the 8th May 1906, is one of the most decorated teams in Mexican football.
CD Guadalajara qualified for UAE 2018 after winning the CONCACAF champions league trophy for the second time. On the way to the final they beat Cibao (7-0, on aggregate), Seattle Sounders (3-1, on aggregate) and NY Red Bulls (1-0, on aggregate). They beat Toronto FC 2-1 in both legs of the final. This was their first time in the FIFA Club World Cup.
