Real Madrid's first pichichi

Position: Forward
Games played: 73
Goals scored: 74

Manuel Olivares arrived at Real Madrid in 1931 from Alavés and spent three seasons at the club, where he was the team's main attacking threat. He scored decisive goals in winning the first two leagues in the club's history (1932 and 1933).

During those years Olivares became one of the top forwards in Spain, demonstrated by his performance in the 1932/33 season, becoming Real Madrid's first Pichichi Trophy winner with 16 goals in 14 games. This award was introduced in the 1952/53 season, though the Marca newspaper acknowledged the top scorers of previous seasons symbolically.

The forward won titles in each of his seasons playing with Real Madrid, lifting the 1934 Spanish Cup in his farewell match. He also won three Municipal Trophies. He was also capped once by the Spanish national team and passed away on 16 February 1976.
