Veloso joined Real Madrid in 1965 after catching the eye in the Deportivo de La Coruña attack and making his debut for the Spanish national team. In his first season he helped the Whites win their sixth European Cup, featuring in the quarter-final win against Anderlecht (4-2).
He went on to play in another three campaigns for Real Madrid, winning three league titles on the bounce and forming part of a front line that included Gento, Amancio and Grosso. He passed away on 13 November 2019 at the age of 82.
