Goyvaerts, born in Belgium, joined our club from Barcelona in the 1965/66 season. During this campaign, when he shared the dressing room with club legends like Gento and Amancio, he helped the Whites secure their sixth European Cup after defeating Partizan 2-1 in Brussels.
After the European Cup success, in his next and final season at Real Madrid he helped the team clinch the LaLiga title, playing in three matches and scoring one goal. After his spell at Real Madrid, he spent one more year in Spain, with Elche. The former Belgium international passed away on 5 April 2004.
