Real Madrid brought Pedro Munitis to the club at the start of the 2000/01 season following an outstanding spell in the Primera Division with Racing Santander. The skilful attacker, who was specialised in turning games around thanks to his speed, grit and dribbling, delighted Real Madrid fans for two years.
Munitis was an important player in his first season at our club, playing a prominent role in Del Bosque's squad winning the league title with ease. The following campaign got off to a flying start, winning the Spanish Super Cup against Zaragoza. He went on to play his part in a team that went down in history after winning the ninth European Cup in Glasgow. Munitis made 21 appearances for Spain.
