NEWS.

Real Madrid won their fourth consecutive European Cup on 3 June 1959 after a 2-0 win over Stade de Reims. It was a repeat of the first European Cup final, but this time at the Neckarstadion in Stuttgart, with Real Madrid winning more comfortably. Real Madrid took the lead after just two minutes thanks to a goal by Mateos before Di Stéfano made it 2-0 after the break.
On the road to the final, Real Madrid beat Besiktas, Wiener SK and Atlético de Madrid. In the semi-final against Los Rojiblancos, it was the first European derby and a play-off match was needed to decide the finalist. Played in Zaragoza, the Madridistas won 2-1, thanks to goals from Di Stéfano and Puskas. Years later, Real Madrid would win the European Cup again on 3 June. It was in 2017, when they won the Duodécima against Juventus.
