Today marks 72 years since Basketball Copa de España
On 25 May 1952, Real Madrid lifted the title with a win over Joventut in Alicante.
On this day 72 years ago, Real Madrid's basketball team won their second Copa de España, led by player-coach Freddy Borrás. They beat Joventut de Badalona 43-41 in the final played in Alicante.
Willo Galíndez was the game's key player, scoring 17 points. On their way to the final, Real Madrid knocked out Covadonga in the quarterfinals and were too good for Canoe in the semifinals.
