This programme was launched to provide children with functional diversity who do not typically have access to environments in which to play basketball with high-quality opportunities to play alongside peers of various abilities and benefit from the expertise of an experienced and specifically qualified coaching team.
 
The overriding aim of the programme is to instil values while teaching players with disabilities to play basketball in a fun atmosphere in which values of commitment, camaraderie and equality take centre stage, and where possible, to allow players to join in with other children without disabilities in other activities alongside the rest of the social-sporting basketball schools.
 
The adapted social sports schools and the recreational and non-competitive wheelchair basketball schools see the Real Madrid Foundation offer a comprehensive diversity provision as it caters for individuals with motor, intellectual and sensory disabilities.
