NEWS | 09/01/2016 | Bárbara JiménezThe Welshman celebrated his 50th league victory with a hat-trick.
Real Madrid picked up their first three points of 2016 against Deportivo in a match which saw Gareth Bale record his 50th league victory with the Whites. The Welshman arrived at this milestone in his third season at the club and having played a total of 72 games in the tournament: “It’s nice to score but the most important thing is the win and helping the team win as much as possible”.
“I’m very happy because we got the three points and it was an important win. I had a good game. We now have to continue working hard and I’m sure we will carry on winning games”.
Change of manager
“Everybody knows that Zidane was a great player and I’m sure he’ll be the same as a manager. We’ve only trained a few times but we’re professionals and we work hard to try to win games and all of the titles available. We have to carry on the same way, like we were doing before. Nothing has changed and today hasn’t been any different”.
Bale made his debut on the 14th of September 2013 against Villareal at the Madrigal (2-2), and with Real Madrid he has won 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup and 1 Copa del Rey. This season he has been involved in eight victories in the league, scoring twelve times. With the three goals against Deportivo, he recorded his 50th goal for the club in all competitions (51 in total, 40 of those in the league).
