12 Real Madrid players will represent the club at the World Cup in Brazil. Ramos, Casillas and Xabi Alonso will try to retain the title with Spain, whilst another six national sides have Madrid players in their squads. Modric (Croatia), Benzema and Varane (France), Marcelo (Brazil), Di María (Argentina), Coentrão, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe (Portugal) in addition to Khedira (Germany), are the players that have been selected to go.
The first match involving a Real Madrid player will be the tournament's first game between Brazil and Croatia, where Marcelo and Modric will face off (Thursday 12th of June 22:00 Spanish time), whilst in Group G the Portuguese trio will face Khedira's Germany. The Portuguese and Spanish national sides are the squads with the most Madrid players in them, with three each.
