Pace, talent, power and an ability to go past players are amongst some of Theo Hernández's biggest assets. A left-back blessed with fine physical attributes, Hernández has proved himself to be a sound defender who is capable of posing a threat at the other end of the field. He also possesses fine shooting ability with his powerful left foot.
Just prior to joining Real Madrid at the age of 19, Theo played a key role in Alavés's first campaign in the top flight in the 2016/17 season. The Frenchman enjoyed an excellent year, in which he racked up 38 appearances, scored two goals, provided three assists and ended the season amongst the players to have completed the most dribbles in the division.
He also reached the Copa del Rey final with the Vitoria-based outfit, a game in which he was on target from a free-kick, and was named in the LaLiga Breakthrough Team of the Year by uefa.com. Theo is also a French Under-20 international.
