Webster Public Schools will be following the Real Madrid Foundation’s Sports Program and offering soccer and basketball training to a subset group of English Language Learner students. The program is to start in April 2020 by offering soccer and then, in the following academic year, the program will start by offering basketball in the Fall and Winter and Soccer in the Spring.

There is an increasing number of English Language Learner students in the Webster district and the program will aim to assist the students enrolled in the program in their transition through Middle and High School. The language can easily become a barrier so the program will focus on (1) motivating the students to continue studying and improving their English Language skills, and (2) using sports –soccer and basketball under RMF’s methodology– to improve their social skills and abilities.
