Joselu: “It was a very tough and hard-fought game”

Joselu scored Real Madrid's second goal against Real Sociedad. The forward discussed the match our team won at the Bernabéu: "It was a very tough and hard-fought game. Real Sociedad attempt to dominate wherever they play and they've got very good players. We had to stick together and try to dig deep because any team in the Primera División can hurt you".

 

"We have to work on a couple of things because we conceded a goal very early on, but it's the Bernabéu and, with the support in the second half, we turned the game around. We managed to get the three points after the international break".

 

"We're consistent and we believe in ourselves. We were going to get our chances even though we were trailing before half-time. There's a lot of quality in this squad, we came from behind again, we created a lot of clear chances and we deserved to win".

 

"I'm very pleased to score goals because they help the team to pick up points and win games. I'm happy to do my bit when the coach calls on me to do my bit".

 

"It depends on the opposition, the coach asks me to be in the penalty area. That's where I like to be. I try to compete a lot with the opposition defence and take my chances, like the one I had today".

 

"We work very hard every day to create those chances. We wear teams down a lot during the first half and it's impossible to keep up the level for 90 minutes. We created chances both today and the other day. The goal is the goal.  The team has a strong bench, we all chip in and we're all important".
