The Diunsa Foundation, a partner of the Real Madrid Foundation in Honduras, celebrated its 12th anniversary of service by holding the Friendship Tournament. This initiative brought together teams from the three socio-sports schools that it develops with the Real Madrid Foundation and a wide network of local partners.
The main objective of the football tournament was to bring together children and young people from Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba and San Pedro Sula to practice what they learnt in the weekly training sessions. In addition to having fun, the values of the Real Madrid Foundation's methodology were strengthened: motivation, companionship, autonomy, health, equality, respect and self-esteem.
Personalities present
The event was attended by Mario Faraj, president of the Diunsa Foundation; Diana Faraj de Larach, executive president; Gladys Ramírez, manager of the entity, as well as members of the board of directors and representatives of partner institutions, companies and organisations.
Diana Faraj de Larach said: "During all these years we have made great progress in the formation of values in the children and young people of the communities in which we operate, helping them to be better people, so that they can be agents of change in their families and in society.
For her part, Gladys Ramírez indicated: "Our main focus is on families, which is why we are also developing the Parents' Club, which is an initiative that consists of giving orientation talks on topics of interest to parents in the important role they play with their children."
