Our 26th football league was won 28 years ago

Real Madrid celebrated its 26th league title on 3 June 1995. Our team mathematically clinched the championship on the second-to-last matchday by beating Deportivo de La Coruña at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-1). Valdano's side took the lead through Amavisca, Bebeto equalised and a late goal from Zamorano allowed Real Madrid to celebrate the league title in front of their fans.

That season, Real Madrid scored 55 points to Deportivo's 51, who finished second. With 76 goals scored, our team scored the most goals in the championship and Zamorano won the Pichichi with 28 goals. Moreover, it was the season in which a future legend called Raúl made his debut.
