Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo spoke to the press following the win over Betis at the WiZink Center. The coach reflected on the last game in the Regular League Season: "We struggled to get started and maintain the intensity and energy levels. Our batteries are running low and we need to recover physically. Often, when your head isn't all there, it's tough. I'm sure everything that happened on that magical weekend affected our preparations somewhat."
“The team played in streaks against a Betis side fighting for survival, they were very disciplined. They were right in it until the end and we kept fighting because we were trailing. We were able to gather ourselves and make winning shots at the key moments."
“I'm pleased with the team's attitude because we wanted to win it in front of our fans. I'm sad to see Betis go down, as I would have been about Granada, because I am fond of them both. We have to respect the game of basketball and we tried to give it our best. We tried to win the game but we struggled to get going. I'm upset for Betis but that's sport sometimes."
