NEWS STORY. 12/05/2023

"It's a historic and very special milestone for me. I'm grateful to wear this jersey and compete for all these titles," said the point guard.

Sergio Rodríguez played his 500th game for Real Madrid against Valencia Basket in La Liga game 32. The Canary Islands point guard is the fifth Real Madrid player to reach the half-thousand mark after Felipe Reyes, Sergio Llull, Jaycee Carroll and Rudy Fernández. In his seventh season with the team, divided into two stages (2010-2016 and from 2022), he has won 13 titles: 1 Euroleague, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 3 ACB Leagues, 4 Copas del Rey and 4 Supercopas.

The madridista summed up the milestone achieved: "It's a historic figure and very special for me. I'm very proud and very grateful for the opportunities and for continuing to wear the Real Madrid jersey and to continue competing for all these titles."

One of Madrid's best point guards
The point guard has 376 victories with Real Madrid under his belt and is one of our team's all-time greats in both the league and the Euroleague. He led us in the unforgettable 2014/15 season and was one of the pillars of one of the most successful eras of the basketball team. In Europe's top competition he was MVP in 2013/14 and a member of the best five, averaging 14 points, 4.9 assists, 2 rebounds and 15.9 index rating. Sergio Rodríguez is pure talent and magic, as he showed in the fifth Euroleague playoff game against Partizan, where he was decisive with 26 points.
