Rudy Fernandez Wins Giant of the Decade Award

Rudy Fernández was one of the leading figures at the 35th edition of the Gigantes del Basket Awards gala. The Madrid forward received the Gigantes de la Década trophy for his career with Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. The player thanked the organisers of the award and said: "Thank you very much to Gigantes for this award. Right now I am going day by day. I am training and trying to recover as soon as possible to make the Cup. I'm not thinking about anything other than this week's Copa del Rey. I hope I can play for many years, but right now I am thinking about the day to day, I have two children and I also want to be with them."

Rudy is a club legend. As a madridista he has won 22 titles: 2 Euroleagues, 1 Intercontinental, 6 Leagues, 5 King's Cups and 8 Spanish Supercups. In addition, last summer he lifted his fourth Eurobasket as captain of Spain. With the national team he has also won two World Cups as well as two silver medals and one bronze medal at the Olympic Games.
