Courtois among three finalists for The Best Award: FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year 2022

Thibaut Courtois is one of the final three candidates to win The Best FIFA Goalkeeper Trophy 2022. The winner will be announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022, which will take place in Paris on 27th February 2023.

This award recognises achievements between 8th August 2021 and 18th December 2022. In that period, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, who already won the trophy in 2018, won the Champions League (and was even voted MVP of the final), the European Super Cup, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup with the club. 

The voting period for the different categories runs from 12th January to 3rd February and the winner will be chosen by the coaches and captains of the national teams, specialist journalists, and fans around the world via FIFA+. In addition to Courtois, winner of the Yashin Trophy 2022, the other goalkeepers in the running for the award are: Alisson, Bounou, Ederson and Emiliano Martinez.
