Tavares Reaches 400 Games with Real Madrid

Walter Tavares reached 400 games with Real Madrid in the Clásico against Barcelona. Such a figure had only been reached by Jaycee Carroll (709) and Jeffery Taylor (463) beforehand. The Cape Verdean centre is currently in his sixth season with the team, with whom he has won 10 titles (1 European Cup, 3 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 5 Super Cups) to boot has won numerous individual awards.

His influence on the game is absolute and he is capable of deciding games. Tavares' evolution since his arrival at Real Madrid has been spectacular and he has become the most dominant centre in Europe. He is already the leading shot-stopper ever in the Euroleague and fifth in La Liga, just behind another Madrid legend such as Sabonis.

In the top European competition he has been a member of the Best Five and twice Best Defender; while in the ACB he has been MVP of the League Final, twice a member of the Best Five and  Best Defender once.
