Fuenlabrada went ahead in the first half but Álvaro and Aranda turned the game around.

Real Madrid Castilla took all three points on their trip to Fuenlabrada in the final clash of 2022. The hosts took the lead in the first half, but our academy side came back after the break with goals from Álvaro and Aranda. The hard-fought win sees Raúl's boys extend their unbeaten run to eleven and close out the year sitting in third, just one point behind the league leaders.

The hosts were first to threaten with a free-kick taken by Cubero which De Luis was more than equal to. Arribas responded on 14' with a shot from inside the box which took a deflection but was stopped by the opposition keeper. Just three minutes later, Diego unleashed a drive from the edge of the box to open the scoring in Fuenlabrada's favour. He could have doubled their lead shortly afterwards, but his shot across goal whistled just wide of the post. From that point on, the game levelled out but the home team headed down the tunnel in front.

The youth team mount a comeback
Castilla came out in the second half looking to turn the game on its head. Indeed, it took them just ten minutes to level proceedings through Álvaro's magnificent header from a corner. Defences were very much on top until the 78th minute, when Aranda latched onto a fine Arribas pass to beat Dani H. with a shot across goal. The scores remained the same until the end of the tie, 1-2 being enough for Castilla to clinch a tenth win of the season. The academy side are back in action on 8 January when they host Algeciras at the Di Stéfano (12:00pm CET).
