Brazil picked up their second win of the World Cup to progress to the Last 16 of the tournament. The five-time winners overcame Switzerland in a game which saw Vini Jr. and Militão play from the start, with Rodrygo being introduced in the second half. The two Real Madrid forwards were all involved in Casemiro’s winning goal that sent la canarinha through to the next round.
The Brazilians carved out several chances and Vini Jr. was at the heart of the action - the forward having a goal ruled out for offside in the 64th minute. Seven minutes from time, the madridista went down the left flank and played the ball in to Rodrygo who laid it off to Casemiro and the former Madrid midfielder fired past the Swiss goalkeeper. Brazil top Group G on six points and will close the group stage against Cameroon (Friday, 2 December, 8 pm, CET).
