A group of 300 young people at risk of exclusion have taken part in the sports experience held in Bangkok.
The Real Madrid Foundation, in collaboration with YKK ASAO (ASEAN, South Asia and Oceania), have held a social sports clinic at the facilities of the Super Star Arena in Bangkok (Thailand). The initiative gave some 300 vulnerable children the chance to enjoy an unforgettable experience across three days of tuition in football and values. The participants were selected by local NGOs including Duang Prateep Foundation, SOS Children’s Village, The Orphanage Foundation of Thailand and The Good Sheperd Thailand, which work with socially disadvantaged young people in the city, including a group of refugees from Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
The Foundation's clinics program, which has been run in collaboration with YKK ASAO since 2012, is back in action following a two-year break. Over the last 10 years, almost 5,000 boys and girls at risk of exclusion in the southeast Asian region (Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, The Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand and South Korea) have trained and learned values through the sporting program. All participants receive a full kit (including ball and boots), while orphanages are given all the material necessary to ensure the children can continue playing football with their teachers after the clinic.
