"This is the greatest club ever, it's a dream to be managing here each day." the Madrid manager stated.

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid manager and Emilio Butragueño, Institutional Relations director and CEO of Real Madrid Graduate School Universidad Europea were the ones in charge of inaugurating the academic year 2022/23 in the auditorium at Real Madrid Sport City. The dean of the Universidad Euopea, Elena Gazapo also attended the event as did Miguel Pardeza and Manolo Sanchís, directors of postgraduate programmes at Real Madrid Graduate School Universidad Europea, and Álvaro Arbeloa.

The seventeenth edition is made up of students of over 75 nationalities and features 36 sport related programmes. During the event, Ancelotti said “I feel like Real Madrid is a family. It’s the best organised club in the world with the most success and the most history. This is the greatest club ever, it's a dream to be managing here each day."

The comebacks of the Decimocuarta (14th)
“It was unbelievable. The key was the fantastic connection that the players forged in the dressing room, between the younger players and the veterans. This enabled us to win games that seemed lost, not let our guard down and battle until the final minute. In the Manchester City game when I saw the 6 minutes of injury time, I thought we could score again. Rodrygo’s first goal changed everyone’s mental dynamic and we managed the win.”

“Sport helps people to be more responsible in life, it has been an amazing life school for me and for all because it helps you raise your own personal limits. You can improve one aspect of your mental or physical qualities each day.”

La Décima
"This team has won 5 Champion's Leagues since 2014, this is great success. When I arrived everbody was talking about the obsession for 'la Décima', but in reality it was a great source of motivation rather than an obsession."
Butragueño: “You are all going to live the Real Madrid experience”
Butragueño welcomed the students: "This is the place which transmits the values of being part of Real Madrid every day, which have been fundamental over the last 120 years. This year we are going to impart 36 programmes to 1,000 students, the highest figure since the creation of the school. 78% of our students come from over 75 different countries. This experience should be a turning point in your professional careers and it will enable you to be better."

You have all placed your trust in us and, as a response to this trust; we assume the responsibility to be at the level that our history demands. You are all going to live the Real Madrid experience. You belong to the most loved and prestigious institution in the world. You are embarking on a fascinating period of your lives, you are filled with hope and you will never forget this stage of your training.

Elena Gazapo: “This school has the seal of quality of leading institutions”

This school encompasses all of the areas of sporting knowledge under the seal of quality and excellence of two leading institutions, which came together in 2006 in order to train the best professionals of the sports industry on a global scale. Real Madrid, being 120 years old is still fighting fit. Every day they have to be praised for a new victory. The Balon D’Or, Courtois’ best goalkeeper trophy, yesterday’s 5-1… Europa University is up there with the best 150 sporting institutions in the world. Together we give our students an international and multidisciplinary education.”

The event concluded with a conversation between Ancelloti and Butragueño in the presence of the school’s new students who had the chance to ask the Madrid manager some questions. The opening ceremony ended with the traditional ‘family photo’.
