Arbeloa's youngster recorded a handsome away win against Celtic, courtesy of strikes from  Nico Paz (two), Pol, Youssef, Enrique and César.

The club's Juvenil A side opened their UEFA Youth League campaign with a comfortable away win over Celtic. Arbeloa's charges dominated from start to finish to chalk up their first three points in the continental competition courtesy of strikes from Pol, Youssef, Enrique and Nico Paz before the break, while Nico Paz completed his brace in the second half and César rounded off the scoring with the team's sixth of the game.

Right from kick-off, the rain lashed down to make playing conditions tough at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium. However, the madridista youth side soon hit the front in this one. With just five minutes on the clock, Pol latched on to an Enrique assist and fired the ball past the hosts’ goalkeeper with a thumping left-footed effort from the edge of the area that went in off a defender. Despite the state of the playing surface, which made any sort of play virtually impossible during the opening 20 minutes, our team doubled their money in the 18th minute courtesy of a Youssef effort that also struck a defender en route into Oluwayemi’s goal.

Celtic were reduced to 10 men after McPherson was shown a straight red card on 23’ after bringing Enrique down when he was clean through on the goalkeeper. However, Enrique wasn’t to be denied for long and extended Madrid’s lead with a fine finish from a David Jiménez cross from the right. Three minutes later, an alert Nico Paz gobbled up a loose ball on the edge of the six-yard box to make it 4-0 to the visitors.

In the second half, Arbeloa’s troops weren’t prepared to sit on their lead and continued to pour forward. In the 50th minute, our youth side put together a fine team move after Manu switched play excellently and Jiménez teed up Nico Paz with a perfect pass to make it five and complete his brace. In the 65th minute, Palacios rounded off the scoring by firing home after the hosts’ goalkeeper had twice parried efforts from Herrero.
