They captured the trophy on 24 August 2008 after winning the second leg against Valencia at the Bernabéu (4-2).

Real Madrid won their eighth Spanish Super Cup 14 years ago today. The Whites lost the first leg against Valencia (3-2), but a Van Nistelrooy brace at Mestalla inspired a comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The madridistas fell behind in Madrid after 33 minutes, but Van Nistelrooy's penalty after the break sparked Madrid's fightback. Sergio Ramos, De la Red and Higuaín were on target in the 4-2 win as the Whites claimed their eighth Spanish Super Cup.
