Eighth anniversary of our second UEFA Super Cup triumph

NEWS STORY. 12/08/2022

Real Madrid clinched the crown in Cardiff against Sevilla.

Today marks eight years since Real Madrid's second UEFA Cup win. After clinching Décima just months earlier, the Whites lifted another continental title in Cardiff (Wales), beating Sevilla thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo double (2-0). The Portuguese man was named Man of the Match

Real Madrid opened the scoring half an hour in, turning in a fine Bale cross from the left-hand side. In the second half, the Portuguese attacker put the tie to bed with a superb shot that found the far corner. The victory saw the madridistas lift the trophy 12 years on from their first UEFA Super Cup win.
