Anthony Randolph made his 300th appearance for Real Madrid against Baxi Manresa. The power forward, who is in his sixth season with Pablo Laso’s side, is the ninth foreign player in terms of games played in the basketball team’s history. His silverware list includes 9 trophies: 1 EuroLeague, 2 league titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies and 4 ACB Super Cups.
Randolph joined the club in the 2016-17 season from Lokomotiv Kuban, who he steered to their first Final Four, and soon became one of the team's offensive linchpins and a major player in Madrid's success. He is also exemplary in overcoming the odds. On 18 December 2020, he suffered a serious injury when he ruptured his Achilles tendon against Olympiacos. He made his comeback 351 days later, on 4 December 2021, against Casademont Zaragoza on matchday 12 of the league season.
Into the 300 club
The American has now reached a figure that only eight other foreigners had previously managed in the history of the club (Carroll, Taylor, Bullock, Tavares, Ayón, Causeur, Thompkins and Hervelle). He is 10 games away from the Belgian, which means he could pass him this season. Randolph's 300 games are spread over 137 EuroLeague games, 143 league games, 12 Copa del Rey games and 8 Super Cup games.
