Laso: “We'll have to produce a complete performance to beat Gran Canaria”

“Every game is important and competition is the best possible training", said the coach.

Pablo Laso appeared to speak to the press in the build-up to Real Madrid's game with Gran Canaria on matchday 4 in the League (Saturday, 8:45pm CEST): “Gran Canaria have a great squad, they are a very complete team in every position and that's why they're fighting for a playoff place right at the end. So we'll have to make a real effort if we want to come through this game".

“They're a team that has combined hard work with consistent effort all season. They've been playing in two competitions and have remained competitive throughout. We've improved in recent games, as the results reflect. In the last meeting against UCAM Murcia, we had a greater sense of continuity in our play".

Demands
“As a coach I always strive to ensure the team is able to keep improving and be more consistent in their play for longer spells. That is essential tomorrow because if we have a bad run, they'll punish us. We'll have to produce a complete performance if we want to win it".

Focused on the league
“For me, every game is important and competition is the best possible training. We must respect the opposition and respect the league. There are teams playing for big things and we don't know any other way than to give it our best and try and win the game".
