A penalty by Olga in the 93rd minute handed Toril’s side three vital points at the Di Stéfano.

Real Madrid clinched an important victory at the Alfredo Di Stéfano on matchday 34 of the Primera Iberdrola. Alberto Toril’s charges, who created several chances to score, took all three points against Madrid CFF thanks to a penalty from Olga in the 93rd minute. This was the Whites’ tenth win on home soil in this season’s Primera Iberdrola, their seventh on the bounce. The madridistas, who are still in the fight for one of the Women's Champions League places, must now turn their attention to their visit to Valencia on the penultima matchday of the competition (Sunday, 12 pm CET).

Toril’s side took to the field of play with the aim of picking up three valuable points, and their intentions were clear right from the kick-off, as they carved out two good chances in the first 15 minutes. First Olga tried her luck from distance but her strike sailed wide, then Athenea struck the post. Halfway through the first half, Esther tested Natalia but the goalkeeper did well to make the save. The hosts continued to apply the pressure on the visitors’ defence, but the visiting keeper kept the score at 0-0 as the sides headed into the break.

In the 72nd minute of play, the visitors had the best chance of the clash, but Misa was on hand to deny Gabi. The Whites got their reward in stoppage time. Mónica handled inside the area and Olga converted the penalty to hand the hosts a much-deserved three points.
