This partnership supports the formation of values through sport for children and young people from poor communities.

The Real Madrid Foundation and the Diunsa Foundation have extended their collaboration agreement to develop sociakl sports schools in Honduras. The agreement was signed by Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation, and Mario Roberto Faraj, president of the Board of Directors of the Diunsa Foundation. The ceremony took place in the auditorium at Real Madrid City and was attended by Director of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueño and the Foundation's Deputy Director General, Iker Casillas.

After 11 years working together, the objective of the agreement remains to promote the development of social sports schools in Honduras. The two organisations carry out this work together, helping to teach values through sport to children and young people from poor communities.

More than 500 children from poor communities in San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa and La Ceiba take part in football and basketball activities every season at the Formando Campeones social sports schools using the Real Madrid Foundation's methodology Por una educación REAL: Valores y deporte (For a REAL education: Values and sport). Activities are complemented by other educational activities such as free English and computer courses with the support of a local cooperation network.

Emilio Butragueño said: "I have been thrilled on all my visits to Honduras and to the schools that our badge and our values are helping so many children and young people to improve and overcome adversity. Mario Faraj added: "We've developed three social sports schools and are currently working on the planning of two more, starting in 2023. Our philosophy continues to be to train champions for life, in other words, people capable of overcoming obstacles to reach their full potential".
