The agreement covers a basketball school for children with ASD and an inclusive football 7-a-side school, both of which take place in facilities provided by the Móstoles Council.
The Mayoress of Móstoles, Noelia Posse was joined by the Councillor for Sports, Carlos Rodríguez, and the coordinator of the Real Madrid Foundation's Adapted Schools, Inclusive and Wheelchair Basketball Projects, Óscar Briongos, in a visit to the basketball school run by the Real Madrid Foundation and the Iker Casillas Foundation in Móstoles. At the school, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from the Madrid town can learn and develop their skills and personality through team sport.
The mayoress had the opportunity to see for herself how this school works, which has been operating since October in the facilities at the Villafontana Sports Centre provided by the Móstoles Town Council to the Real Madrid Foundation and the Iker Casillas Foundation. The children take part in the training sessions which are held after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm.
As well as this adapted basketball school, the partnership signed with the Real Madrid Foundation and the Iker Casillas Foundation also offers a 7-a-side football school at the Iker Casillas pitches on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7pm to 8pm. The registration period for both activities is still open. As part of the Local Government's commitment to promote educational and social policies that favour integration and coexistence, the agreement forms part of the local government's commitment to promote educational and social policies that promote integration and coexistence.
