Felix Brych to officiate Real Madrid-Inter

NEWS STORY. 05/12/2021

It will be the twelfth time the referee has taken charge of our team in the Champions League.

Felix Brych will take charge of Real Madrid's clash with Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabéu on Champions League Group Stage matchday six (Tuesday, 9:00pm CET). The German official will oversee a game involving our team in the competition for the twelfth time. The last game he refereed came last season, a 3-1 win over Liverpool at the Di Stéfano in the quarter-finals.

His first Real Madrid game came in the 2009/10 campaign, a 1-1 Group Stage draw with Milan at the San Siro. In 2010/11, he officiated the 4-0 win over Tottenham in the quarter-finals, while in 2011/12, he was tasked with refereeing the win over APOEL at the same stage (0-3). In the 2012/13 season, he directed a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at home in the last-sixteen; 2013/14 saw him watch over the victory over Copenhagen in the Group Stage (0-2); and in 2014/15, he was in charge of the 1-0 quarter-final win over Atlético.

The German was also the man chosen to officiate the Champions League final in 2016/17, which saw Real Madrid clinch La Duodécima against Juventus. One year later, he was involved in the Champions League 2017/18 last-sixteen clash with PSG at the Parc des Princes (1-2). He then oversaw the second leg of the 2018/19 last-sixteen tie with Ajax at the Santiago Bernabéu. The penultimate game he refereed for the madridistas was the return leg of the last-sixteen against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
