100% qualification record from Champions League group stages

Real Madrid secured qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League against Sheriff at the Tiraspol Stadion to continue their outstanding run in the Group Stages of the competition. The Whites have made it though in all those played since their first appearance in this format of the tournament in the 1995/96 season.
 
Following this year' s competition, Real Madrid have now played in 30 group stages and have qualified for the next round in all of them, including the second Group Stages played from the 1999/00 to 2002/03 campaigns. This makes them the only team to have achieved this record in the competition's history and the team that has qualified for the knockout rounds of the Champions League more times than any other side.
