He checked in at the club at the tail end of last season and is already one of the key men in the Real Madrid roster. Vincent Poirier has enjoyed an excellent start to the league season, as reflected by the fact that he's posting the best statistics he's ever recorded in the competition. His average PIR of 15.3 in his nine appearances this term outdo the PIR of 13.4 he recorded in the 2018/19 season at Baskonia, where he landed a spot in the second best quintent of the league season.
In his 19:24 minutes on court, Poirier has averaged 9.9 points, which represents his highest return in his four seasons in the ACB; he has posted 6.7 rebounds, dished 1.2 assists, steals almost one ball per game and makes 1.1 blocks. These figures reflect just what an efficient performer he is proving to be for the team. In seven of his nine games, the center has posted double digits in the PIR stakes and chalked up his highest score in this department with a PIR of 24 in the Round 1 match-up against Hereda San Pablo Burgos. He has been named MVP in four of his appearances. Quite apart from his statistics, Poirier has settled in seamlessly to Pablo Laso's system and has lined up alongside Tavares to form of the most dominant center pairings in European basketball.
