Fundación Sanitas and Fundación Real Madrid extend their alliance in support of inclusive sport

NEWS STORY. 25/10/2021

Five hundred children with disabilities have benefited from this partnership.

Yolanda Erburu, the Sanitas Foundation's CEO, and Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations, signedsigned the collaboration agreement between the two organisations for the 13th consecutive season during an event led by Enrique Sánchez, Executive Vice-President of the Real Madrid Foundation, in the auditorium at Real Madrid City.

Under the agreement, the thirteenth inclusive basketball camp for boys and girls with different abilities will be held, along with organising inclusive social sports football schools to be held throughout the season in Madrid. Both institutions also work to promote and and raise awareness of inclusive sport. Around a thousand children and young people with different abilities have taken advantage of this alliance since 2009, which guarantees educational sport accessibility for all.

Greater reach
The number of centres taking part will increase this season. The adapted and inclusive social sports football schools by the Real Madrid Foundation provide after-school activities for more than five hundred people in 17 adapted, inclusive and wheelchair basketball projects for 265 children and 7 adapted and inclusive football schools for 135 more children. The adapted and inclusive summer camps cater for a further 90 children each season.
Since its inception, the Real Madrid Foundation has also been a member of the Sanitas Foundation's Alliance for Inclusive Sport, which on 7 October put the finishing touch to its efforts with the celebration of the first ever Inclusive Games.
