The honorary Real Madrid president is the only player to have won six European Cups.
Paco Gento celebrates his 88th birthday today. The Real Madrid legend was born on October 21, 1933 in Guarnizo (Cantabria). He joined the club at the age of 19 and went on to make history and win several trophies. During a club career spanning 18 seasons, in which he made 600 official appearances and scored 182 goals, Gento became the only player in the history of the game to win six European Cups, cementing his place among the best in the sport.

His spectacular list of silverware, along with the aforementioned six European Cups, includes one Intercontinental Cup, two Latin Cups, 12 League titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and one Small Club World Cup. He joined the club from Racing Santander and made his debut on September 13, 1953 against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Honorary President
His physical and technical attributes helped him become the best left winger of all time. As recognition of his achievements at our club, since October 2016 he has been the honorary president of Real Madrid, taking over from another madridista legend, Alfredo Di Stéfano.
