Children who take part in the Real Madrid Foundation social sporting school in New Jersey, USA, in collaboration with the Ducatus Foundation, were involved in the presentation of the alliance between Abbott, Real Madrid and the Foundation with the aim of fighting malnutrition.
At 9:30am on Monday morning, Abbott Nutrition's executive vice-president, Daniel Salvadori, joined by the Real Madrid Foundation's head of projects in the Americas, Mateo Figueroa, rang the bell to mark the opening of the market on Wall Street. The importance of the agreement led Abbott to invite the children who take part in the Foundation programme in the USA to a football pitch set up next to Wall Street.
The children also got to meet actor Jason Sudeikis, who plays a football coach in the series Ted Lasso. He joked that "Real Madrid hasn't gone crazy, they haven't signed me as coach, I'm here to support the fight against malnutrition".
As a result of this alliance, thousands of children from Foundation in 12 countries will have access to nutritional diagnostics, nutritional education and treatment in those cases where it's required, over the next three years. A comprehensive programme that is part of the new alliance between Abbott and Real Madrid.
