Castilla failed to pick up any points on their trip to the Municipal de Cornellà. The academy side conceded in the closing stages, handing victory to the hosts. The early exchanges was defined by a real intensity, with Aranda the first to cause problems not long after kick-off, when his free-kick skimmed past the post. Aranda tried his luck again inside the first ten minutes, this time from inside the centre-circle, but Anacker caught his long-range effort. The hosts then upped the pressure and began to bear down on the madridista goal with increased threat. The Whites' defence stood strong though, repelling everything that was thrown at them.

Jaume Jardí could have put our boys ahead in the final moments of the first half, but his shot flew just wide. After the break, Cornellà were quick to start causing problems. The hosts whipped a free-kick into the box and Mancuso got on the end of it but his header looped over the crossbar. Minutes later, Jaume Jardí forced the opposition goalkeeper into a fine save with an effort from the edge of the area. Castilla stepped up and with just an hour gone, Arribas could have opened the scoring when he struck a mis-hit clearance with a clean volley but Anacker kept him out. Cornellà's response was immediate, rising high to head a corner against the post.

The goal
The game was an end-to-end affair now and Aranda was playing superbly, enjoying a good chance to put Castilla in front with a special piece of individual play, but his effort slipped just the wrong side of the post. With just three minutes left to play, Chiki beat Luis López with a shot from inside the box to hand Cornellà all three points. The youth team played injury time a man down after Carrillo received his second yellow card, and were unable to take anything on the road this time.
