Physical activity, a varied diet and hydration are recommended.
Aiming to improve lives through sport, the Real Madrid Foundation not only promotes learning and weekly practice, run by professionals and adapted to each individual, but also the promotion of the values connected with sport. One of these is health prevention, through the promotion of healthy lifestyles. This is one of the Sustainable Development Goals included in the UN's 2030 Agenda that the Foundation's social and sporting projects around the world contribute most to.
It is important to understand that health is not just a matter of not being ill or having illnesses, but of being healthy. For this reason, there are three basic factors that contribute to a healthy lifestyle and which are addressed in the socio-sports programmes: a varied diet, which is free of processed sugars and rich in vegetables and pulses; regular hydration, not only during exercise; and physical activity, the cornerstone of the Foundation's work, which promotes weekly sports practice. The recommendation is to do between 30 and 60 minutes of exercise a day.
A healthy lifestyle
The combination of these three components can help prevent obesity and its associated problems such as heart disease. Additionally, healthy living and sport bring emotional and psychological benefits, in addition to values and skills for all spheres of life. Through the Sport Values Academy platform, the Real Madrid Foundation provides all the necessary videos to help acquire ideas for family games and training sessions to improve health. It also includes some explanations on how to work in the different programmes and examples of exercises that are carried out in schools, such as the shake your marker drill.

The Foundation collaborates with different entities through health prevention campaigns.

The Real Madrid Foundation collaborates with different entities in health prevention initiatives such as campaigns to combat smoking and the promotion of sports for people with asthma and respiratory diseases together with GSK. It also collaborates in health prevention campaigns jointly with the Ipsen and Janssen laboratories, while also supporting those who are suffering from the disease, developing the children's basketball programme in hospitals through the collaboration of the AMA Foundation and Medical Service Care.
Basic health supplies
Additionally, thanks to the collaboration of the Cofares Foundation, all the programmes run by the Real Madrid Foundation in Spain are provided with a first aid kit and cold packs donated by the Foundation of the medicine distribution company.
