The Real Madrid Foundation ran more than 630 projects during the 2020/21 season.
In spite of the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Real Madrid Foundation managed to run more than 630 projects during the 2020/21 season, helping more than 60,000 beneficiaries in 80 countries on five continents, which represents an 82% increase in activity compared to the previous season. These figures were made possible thanks to health security protocols, digital transformation and innovation to deal with the crisis, both in Spain and abroad.
In Spain, the Foundation has provided support in its different lines of activity to 9,000 people in socio-sports schools. These are for the integration of football and basketball, inclusive sport and adapted sport for people with different abilities, projects in centres for minors and particularly vulnerable groups, migrant minors, hospitalised minors, in addition to care for adults in prisons, programmes for the unemployed, the elderly and the homeless.

More than 40,000 children and young people have been assisted outside Spain.

The Foundation also adapted its activities so that it could continue to run its socio-sporting programmes thanks to distance learning, online courses and webinars, replacing the weekly in-person activity where health-related limitations made this necessary. Overall, more than 40,000 children and young people have been assisted outside Spain, where they received sports education in values, nutritional support, health care and/or regular schooling in 73 countries. 172 sports clinics were held to assist almost 9,000 more minors in 15 countries.
Together with the use of online learning tools, there has been a strategy of innovation and diversification of activities that contributes to the sustainability of the Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sporting projects around the world. This is possible thanks to the collaboration of leading NGOs that work together with the Foundation to support and improve the lives of people through education, development cooperation and integration.
