Laso: “The series heads back to Madrid and Thursday's game is a cup final”

“It'll be a game in which we'll need the energy of the whole team”, declared the coach.
Pablo Laso reflected on the second league semi-final match-up, played on Valencia Basket's floor: "They dominated the game from the off and played some really good basketball. We didn't manage to put together good play, in defense or offense. We did put together a couple of good plays, but you didn't get the impression of consistency from us. We were playing in fits and starts and Valencia Basket punishes you. This game is now over, the series heads back to Madrid and on Thursday we've got a cup final to secure our place in the league final".
"We have to understand that had the game been an even affair and they scored a triple in the final second, the outcome is the same. This is a playoff. We won the first game, they won the second and there'll now be a third match. I'm concerned about the physical side of things because it'll be a game in which we'll need the energy of the whole team".
Alocén's fitness
"We'll have to assess him. It's a similar one to what happened in Madrid. Rudy also picked up a knock. As for Alocén, we tried to manage his minutes, but I hope it's nothing serious".
Lack of accuracy & rebounds

"When we produced good defensive play, we went and missed and that gave them a boost. If we're to win we'll have to be more solid throughout the 40 minutes. I don't feel as if the rebounds were what held us back. We didn't manage to get the upper hand on rebounds, but that wasn't the key".
